I really love this card! I made it with Amy Butler paper from K&Co.
I have someone special in mind with a March birthday, that I'm planning to give it to!

On another note, I presented my FIRST Yoga class! I presented this Yoga class to earn my certification with Yoga Fit for Level I. As part of my certification, I have to offer Yoga as a Service {karma yoga} for 8 hours to receive my Level I certificate and move onto Level II. I think it overall went WELL! Although I know I didn't set up the forward folds very well. I need to get those arms over the head, and then swan diving forward a little more smoothly. So, I'll work on my language around that and see if I can improve. At least now I have a starting point!

Lastly, one of my co-workers today said I was "granola." I kind of LOVE that. I'm granola! Who knew?

I read this in Anne Lamott's book Grace (Eventually): "We can't forgive: that's the work of the Spirit. But we can be willing."

It came from her chapter on Samwheel - the whole story is posted on Salon.com.

The theme that really stood out for me is to be WILLING. I get frustrated when I feel that same bitterness and/or anger bubbling up to the surface AGAIN - when I feel like, "Hey, I've already Dealt with you. We had an agreement here. Why are you back?"

Forgiveness - from my experience, isn't a one-time thing. It seems like I have to be willing Over and Over again to let bitterness go ...

It comes back to Surrender {that was the theme a few weeks ago}. And the realization that I can't do it on my own - and that it's OK to ask for help. Being willing to receive that help, and also to offer it to others. All of these things I am learning!

A quote that I love from Marianne Williamson's A Return to Love:

"When we're angry, or upset for any reason, we're asked to say, "I'm angry but I'm willing not to be. I'm willing to see this situation differently." We ask the Holy Spirit to enter into the situation and show it to us from a different perspective."

The book also also talks about how "Relationships are assignments."

I like a lot of what the author has to say - and the author's work is often featured on Oprah's website and in O magazine. Good stuff!

An attempt at re-crafting. I took my 2007 calendar, cut it up and made a card. I used the card pattern from Amy Butler's website. Have a look here.

I am a big fan of Amy Butler's textiles, and I discovered last week that she also has a line for paper crafting! I received a gift certificate from my mother-in-law to Joann fabrics and had wanted to get some flower paper-punches, and that's when I discovered Amy Butler's paper. They carry it at Joann's!!! Wonderful stuff.

Anyways - here's the calendar card I created - and also a scrapbooking page I made, the background is from my old calendar. I'm definitely a scrapbooking novice, but just trying out new things here and there.
